Each week, some students are selected to perform a classroom job. Here is an explanation of the jobs your student will have throughout the year:

Morning Message: This person is responsible for helping go through the morning message and schedule by finding the picture that represents each daily activity and putting it up on the morning message board.
Bell Ringer: This person rings the bell that signifies the end of recess
Attendance: This person helps figure out how many students are absent by counting the attendance blocks. Additionally, they figure out and complete the color pattern the teacher has made with the blocks that day.
Calendar: This person leads the class in counting the days we have had in the month so far, and adds the next date up on the calendar.
Teacher's Helper: This person is responsible for giving 5 minute warnings for clean up during choice time and indicating when it is time to clean up. They also give out Purell before snack each day.
Weather: This person looks outside each morning and decides what the weather is like for that day, then puts up a picture representing the weather on our weather chart.
Marker Police: This person looks through the classroom markers and makes sure that all the caps are on.

We would love for families to contribute to our classroom environment by making some play dough for their student(s) to bring in! Here is a simple recipe:
**Please email Ms. Kish at lkish@tchs.org with any questions**

Cooked Play Dough

3 cups flour
1 cup salt
6 teaspoons cream of tartar
3 cups water
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Food coloring

Mix flour, salt, and cream of tartar in a large saucepan. Blend water and oil together in a bowl. Add to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens. Add several drops of food coloring until you get the right color. Cook for about five minutes. Take the play dough out of the saucepan and put it on a cutting board or counter and knead for a few minutes. Add flour if it's too sticky.
